Presidents Show Message
This year will be a very special year with the 174th year of running this major local family event.
Once again where would we be without the support of all the local community a big thank you to all of our sponsors for their continued support of the Penrith Show.
We are most grateful to the High School Junior Farmers who put together a wonderful variety of displays as they compete against each other for various awards that have been once again kindly donated. We are as always indebted to all the schools, teachers, students and supporters of this section which ensures that this is a rewarding display each and every year!
Woodchop will once again be staged on one side of “Family Hill” overlooking the track. This event is always a crowd pleaser and we would like to once again thank The Axemen’s Federation for their continued support.
The working dogs will also be on display both days of the show the whole family to enjoy.
Make sure you pop your head into the snake and reptile display for an educational look at information regarding snake bites and an insider’s view on busting a few myths regarding these slithery creatures! A great learning display for the whole family! The Animal Farm is only a few short steps from the reptile man and there you will find a huge array of furry and feathered friends to discover.
Saturday night’s entertainment features the Isuzu D-Max team tearing up the centre ring & the fireworks finale at 8.50pm will be a spectacular sight to behold!
There will be a big two day competition of horse events including Show Hunters, Pony Hacks & Stock Horses in the centre ring. Don’t miss seeing these noble creatures on parade.
For a step back in time make sure you take the kids down to the old Print Museum and show them how things were done before computers, back when all things where done and printed by hand 95 years ago in almost the same location on Station Street in Penrith!
As always many thanks should go the members of the society for the time they have given over the years to co-ordinate the various displays and exhibits without them the Penrith Show would not have nearly as much heart and community spirit as it does have.
My thanks to the board of directors, management, staff and volunteers for the time and effort that makes the Penrith Show a wonderful event every year.
